CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry
Course Overview
This course has been designed to provide individuals with the basic knowledge to safely enter and work on a construction site. This accredited unit of competency includes hazard identification and the prevention of workplace accidents and injuries. The term "Whitecard" refers to the plastic card in which students who successfully complete this training will receive and use to enter construction worksites.
Under Work Health and Safety Legislation, workers on construction sites in Australia must undertake general induction training or 'Whitecard Training' to gain access to, and or work on a construction site.

- Safe use of plant and equipment
- Safety Signs and symbols
- Accident and Incident Reporting
- Site Emergency and Evacuation
COURSE OUTCOMES
- Identify health and safety legislative requirements
- Identify construction hazards and control measures
- Identify health and safety communication and reporting processes
- Identify incident and emergency response procedures
Students who achieve competency in this unit will receive a Whitecard and a Statement of Attainment.
PRE-REQUISITE
This course requires students to have basic language, literacy and numeracy skills. All Students must complete a pre-enrolment Language, Literacy and Numeracy Assessment prior to their enrolment being accepted.

DELIVERY / DURATION
This course is delivered face to face over a 6 hour duration (1 session). Assessment for this course includes both theory and practical tasks.

VENUE / LOCATION
This course will be located in South Australia. A training venue will be confirmed at the time of booking.
